[Persian Manuscript]. Illuminated Persian Manuscript. No place, no date [but likely Persian, ca. 19th century]. With twenty-six hand-colored illustrations. Quarto (6.75 x 8.5 inches; 172 x 227 mm). Unpaginated but with 67 leaves and 26 color illustrations, text in manuscript in a strong yet elegant hand. Bound in three-quarter crushed dark green morocco and marbled boards, spine lettered and decorated in gilt; corners bumped and rubbed, joints heavily rubbed, head of spine chipped with losses, moderate wear. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt; bookplate of Alfred Bull to front pastedown. Internally generally clean, some illustrations with tissue guards but not all; generally evenly toned, some intermittent foxing and thumb soiling, some evidence of damp staining primarily to margins, offsetting to tissue guards and leaves where tissue guards are not present.

Some illustrations partially heightened with an iridescent (but not gilt) color. Attractively painted and hand-colored, very good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
