Publisher's black cloth, front board stamped in gilt with an Edward IV gold rose noble coin, spine lettered in gilt; all edges trimmed; plain white endpapers. In original first-issue, second-state dust jacket with credit to Kenneth Lewis and the author overprinted on the front flap. Very gentle spine lean; front board very slightly splayed; boards just barely rubbed. Previous owner signature on the front free endpaper. Dust jacket edges lightly worn with shallow chipping and closed tears to the crown; short (about one-half inch) closed tear to upper edge of front panel; rear panel evenly soiled, with small pencil notation to bottom margin; a couple faint splashes; flaps very lightly foxed.
