    Ian Fleming. Live and Let Die. London: Jonathan Cape, [1954]. First edition, first impression, first issue, first state, with printing points as called for. Octavo. 240 pages. Publisher's black Fabroleen cloth, gilt-stamped Edward IV gold rose noble coin to the center of the upper board, spine lettered in gilt; original printed dust jacket by Ken Lewis, lacking the printed acknowledgement to the front flap of the dust jacket and with "author'sskill" printed to back panel, as called for. Corners just bumped, foot of spine just barely pushed, minor soiling to back panel. White endpapers; bookseller's ticket to front pastedown with light offsetting to front free endpaper, effaced pencil notation to top corner of the front free endpaper recto. Internally clean and tight, all edges trimmed; text block lightly toned, dampstaining to top edge but not reaching into text block, minor text block edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped (10s 6d); minor edgewear, minor chipping to head and foot of spine and corners, toned, some dampstaining to back panel. Housed in custom quarter oxblood calf over marbled boards, stamped in gilt, spine lettered and decorated in gilt with four false raised bands. Near fine book with very good dust jacket.
