Three octavo volumes (9.25 x 6.25 inches; 233 x 160 mm.). xxiii, [1, blank], 231, [1, colophon]; xxxiv, 277, [1, colophon]; xvi, 247,  pages. Inserted photographic frontispieces, plates and intertextual illustrations throughout by Harry Burton. Publisher's yellowish-brown cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt, beetle device in gilt and black at front boards. All bindings mildly rubbed and edge-worn, page edges stained and lightly foxed, previous owner's signature in volume two, front endpapers of volume two likely replaced, spine of volume two stained (approximately two inches by one half inch.) Very good. Housed together in a custom slipcase.
