[xii], [98], [99: printer note], [100: blank] page, frontispiece and nine additional illustrated plates inserted throughout. Publisher's green quarter-cloth over brown paper-covered boards, spine and front board lettered in gilt, front board ruled in blind with illustrated paper inlay to front board. Spine faintly dulled, extremities worn, top edge lightly dust soiled. Dust jacket with large chip to upper edge of front panel, spine panel worn with faint splash under author's name and minor chipping to crown, small split in the center of the front joint fold. A near fine copy in a very good, scarce dust jacket. From the collection of Dr. Stuart David Schiff.
