    More Information: Edgar [Allan] Poe. Les Cloches. [The Bells]. Paris: Librairie de l'Eau-Forte, [1876]. First Guérard edition, limited to 100 copies on Holland paper, this copy unnumbered. Folio (13.75 x 10.5 inches; 351 x 269 mm.). 15, [1, colophon] pages; four full-page etchings by Henry Guérard and tissue guards inserted.Near contemporary red cloth with wood-grain pattern, black gilt lettering label on spine, original wrappers bound-in. Spine toned and worn with a few tears; front joint starting; boards edgeworn; upper corners bumped and torn. Hinges cracked; text toned; two catalogue descriptions affixed or taped to front free endpaper; some foxing, offset, thumbsoil to text. Still, very good. Walter Chrysler's copy with his small leather bookplate on the front pastedown. Chrysler was the founder of the the Chrysler Corporation and was an avid book collector; Parke-Bernet sold his collection in 1954.
