    Description

Bram Stoker. Dracula. Westminster: Archibald Constable and Company, 1897. First edition, final leaf in second state with ad for The Shoulder of Shasta, later issue with publisher's catalog. Octavo (7.5 x 5 inches; 191 x 125 mm.). [x], 390, [1, blank], [1, The Shoulder of Shasta ad] pages with sixteen pages of ads inserted at rear. Publisher's yellow cloth, ruled and lettered in orangish-red; edges rough-trimmed. Boards lightly soiled; backstrip darkened with some light fading to the text; potential very minor repairs to spine ends, addressing short closed tears to cloth; some light staining to the lower edge of the rear board; corners bumped and a little worn with the boards visible. Hinges almost invisibly reinforced; text block with trace marginal spotting or wear (with a couple short closed tears); some leaves (including title-leaf) just faintly browning; armorial bookplate, previous owner's initials. An attractive and sound, very good, copy with just a hint of sophistication. Dalby 10(a). From the KoKo Collection.
