Small octavo (6.25 x 3.75 inches; 160 x 96 mm.). [iii] - xii, 202 pages; engraved frontispiece and title-page inserted at front. Nineteenth-century red morocco, front board with hand-painted embossed serpent with a skull for a head, spine lettered in gilt, five raised bands, red endleaves; all edges gilt. Front board, front free endpaper, first binder's blank and frontispiece detached (still present); rear joint starting; some wear, toning to binding. Some toning, mild foxing to frontispiece and engraved title; binder's blanks toned and brittle. Good. Housed in red calf slipcase (worn and soiled, with splits and some missing portions).
