    More Information:

Couching at the Door: Strange and Macabre. The Ash-Tree edition collects the contents of COUCHING AT THE DOOR (1942), the weird tales from A FIRE OF DRIFTWOOD (1932) and "The Taste of Pomegranates," a previously uncollected tale, with an introduction by editor Jack Adrian. See Barron (ed), Fantasy and Horror (1999) 4-27.

The Amazing Dreams of Andrew Latter. The fourth volume in Ash-Tree's "Occult Detectives Library." Begbie was a polemical journalist in the early 1900s. In 1904 he wrote this series of six detective stories for LONDON MAGAZINE about a sort of dreamland/parallel universe.

The Experiences of Flaxman Low. Collects the twelve Flaxman Low psychic detective ghost stories first published in PEARSON'S MAGAZINE in 1898 and 1899. New introduction by editor Jack Adrian. The first book edition of these stories, GHOSTS: BEING THE EXPERIENCES OF FLAXMAN LOW  (1899), is rare and only six of the stories were collected in the rather shoddy wartime 1916 reprint edition. This new Ash-Tree press edition is quite welcome, as the 1993 Ghost Story Press facsimile edition is long out of print and now commands a substantial sum when offered for sale. "Probably the first important adventures of an occult detective, if Le Fanu's Dr. Hesselius is momentarily overlooked." - Bleiler, The Guide to Supernatural Fiction 799. Ashley, Who's Who in Horror and Fantasy Fiction, p. 151. Barron (ed), Horror Literature 3-85. Bleiler (1978), p. 99. Reginald 11896.
