Octavo, pp. [1-6] 7-192, original light blue cloth, spine panel stamped in silver. A fine copy in nearly fine dust jacket with light wear at edges and mild dust soiling to rear panel. A very nice copy.More Information:
Episodic thriller wherein title character, a psychic investigator, collects curios from weird adventures, each provides a tale to be told, i.e. a vehicle to collect Thorndike's short fiction in novel format. Chapter VI appeared as "Friday the Thirteenth" in Creeps anthology Powers of Darkness (1934). Linking story involves haunting by diabolic monk, also skulking Orientals in search of Mohammedan relic stolen during Crusades by aforementioned monk. Confused but entertaining "pulp" material.
