Henry Miller. Holograph Manuscript Signed, of an Essay entitled, "America, America." 1978. Six 8.5 x 11 sheets (215 x 280 mm.). Holograph manuscript for an essay published in Your Capricorn Friend: Henry Miller and the Stroker, 1978-1980 (New Directions), with the note: Henry Miller wrote this essay for Michel Waxman and Andre Cromphont as a foreword for a book of photographs to be published by Editions Complete, Brussels, Belgium. Miller uses the photographs as springboards for commentary upon the grandeur of the land, the willful ignorance of the American populace, the egregious mistreatment, marginalization, and misunderstanding of the Indian, the African-American, and the "hillbilly and other so-called 'backward' people." He writes: "I have spoken of the slums and ghettos of our country. Yet for the style of life practiced by a good portion of the white population they might just as well be living in the slums and ghettos. Their slums and ghettos are of the mind-probably worse than the real slums and ghettos." Very good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
