An Incredible Archive of Henry Miller Material - Compiled by His Personal Friend and Barber, Pierre Sicari

Henry Miller. Archive of Material Related to Miller and His Friendship with Pierre Sicari. [Los Angeles, ca. 1970's]. A wonderful archive, consisting of approximately thirty-six signed items (photographs, checks, letters, postcards, dust jackets, and other ephemera), original (mainly unpublished) photographs of Miller, Sicari, Sicari's wife, or Miller's home in Pacific Palisades, California (approximately 105 color photographs, most approximately 3.25 x 5 inches). Enclosed are some of the original negatives of some of these photographs. There is even a hair sample from Miller enclosed (easily obtained by Sicari, Miller's barber). One item is a signed black and white photograph (approximately 10 x 8 inches) of adult film star Linda Lovelace with a handwritten passage by Miller next to her image: "I don't think/I'm going to/pay five bucks/to see her/do her trick./H.M./alias/Henry Miller". All of these items are mounted onto the pages of a custom-built photo album. The album's binding is full brown morocco, with Miller's profile and facsimile signature stamped in blind on the front cover, and his name in blind relief on the spine. This material was collected when Miller was in his late seventies or early eighties. An excellent archive which gives great insight into one of the great men of American letters of the twentieth century. Pierre Sicari was a barber in Hollywood when Henry Miller came into his shop. The two men struck up a lasting friendship, and Sicari became one of the leading Henry Miller collectors in the world, with almost all of his collection, even the minor material, signed by Miller. From the collection of Henry Miller's personal friend, Pierre Sicari.
