First edition, with errata leaf, final blank, and "lected" catchword on p. 21 in first volume, B5 unsigned in sixth volume, and all associated cancels (note: lacking only final blank in third volume). Six volumes. Twelvemo (6.5 x 3.75 inches; 163 x 96 mm.). lxii, [2, errata leaf], 214, [2, blank]; [2, title], 324; [2, title], 370; [2, title], 312; [2, title], 294; [2, title], 304 pages. Later half brown morocco over brown paper-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt with five raised bands ruled in blind; all text block edges trimmed and gilt. Light shelf wear to bindings. Some soft toning to text blocks; occasional speck of soiling or staining scattered throughout interior. Very good. Housed in custom brown leather and marbled paper clamshell, the lid of which is detached. With gilt-stamped black leather book labels of J. P. Morgan affixed to front pastedown of each volume.
