Helen Keller. The Story of My Life. New York: Doubleday, Page & Company, [1903]. First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Dear Dr. Hale / Who has taught me / that even the prison- / places of Life may / be made to blossom / Like Aaron's rod / with Flowers. / Helen Keller / March Tenth / 1903." Octavo (8 x 5 inches; 203 x 127 mm.). [xiv], 441, [3, blank] pages. With inserted portrait frontispiece of Keller and Annie Sullivan and thirteen photographic plates inserted throughout. Publisher's dark red cloth, front board and spine lettered in gilt. Cloth spine edgeworn; boards worn with some scuff-marks and soiling; some foxing to endleaves; some intermittent foxing in text. Bookplate of William E. Ambler (ink stamp on bookplate) on front pastedown. Later ink notation on front free endpaper, not affecting Keller's inscription. Small printed photo of Keller affixed to half-title beneath printed title. Bookseller's catalogue description affixed to recto of portrait frontispiece. Very good. It is quite possible that the recipient of this inscription was Dr. Edward Everett Hale, a close friend of Keller's since her childhood, making this a potentially excellent association copy. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
