    Inscribed by Harry Crosby

    Harry Crosby. Sonnets for Caresse. Paris: [Herbert Clarke]: 1926. Second Impression, one of twenty-seven copies. Presentation copy, inscribed by Crosby on the first blank: "To Mac and Madame / from Harry / 1926". Octavo. [6, blank], [44], [7, blank] pages. Bound by Lafon in contemporary full tree calf, spine ruled in gilt, terra cotta gilt morocco lettering label. Spine missing lower half, board edges worn, joints and hinges cracked. A fair copy with a rare inscription.
    The recipient of the inscription was John MacPherson, who was a co-worker and friend of Crosby's during the 1920s (they worked together at the Morgan Trust).
