    Harriet Beecher Stowe. Uncle Tom's Cabin. Boston: John P. Jewett, 1852. First edition. Two octavo volumes (7.5 x 4.625 inches; 190 x 120 mm.). x, 13-312, [2, blank]; iv, 5-322, [2, blank]. Publisher's restored brown cloth decoratively ruled in blind with pictorial decoration in gilt at front board and titles in gilt at spine. Edges shelfworn; corners lightly bumped; spines rebacked with original backstrip laid over; spine and extremities sunned. Slight spine lean; scattered foxing throughout interior; bookseller label at front pastedown of volume one; front pastedown discolored, likely from a removed bookplate. Both volumes bear the ownership signature of Charles H. Bigelow, a noted Massachusetts architect. A good repaired copy. From the collection of Daniel J. King.
