Description

First Edition of To Kill a Mockingbird, in the Original First Printing Dust Jacket

Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company, [1960]. First edition of the author's first and only novel, one of only 5,000 copies printed.
Octavo. 296 pages. Publisher's green cloth backstrip over brown paper boards, spine stamped in gilt, first printing dust jacket (Capote blurb in green ink on front flap, original price of $3.95 at bottom of front flap, and Jonathan Daniels blurb on rear flap - with no mention of later printings on either flap). Jacket toned and a bit thumbsoiled, showing signs of restoration at edges and folds with some color added. Some wear at extremities and joints, cloth spine dull (gilt on spine tarnished), some rubbing to binding and boards. Skewed. Still, a very good copy of this landmark novel, the winner of the 1961 Pulitzer Prize for Literature.
From the Palo Alto Collection of Modern Literature.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
