On the verso of the front free endpaper, the recto of the half-title, and the dedication page are extensive notes for a new book ("The Author in Search of Himself"). Octavo. 760, [4, blank] pages. Publisher's full black cloth, spine stamped in purple and gilt, dust jacket. Jacket spine a bit sunned, some rubbing and very minor soiling to jacket. Still, fine. A fascinating look at the creative process of an important and influential author. From the collection of Dr. Stuart David Schiff.
