H. G. Wells. The First Men in the Moon. London: George Newnes, 1901. First edition, in the first issue binding. A superb copy.Octavo. [viii], 342, [2, blank] pages. With twelve plates inserted throughout. Publisher's first issue binding of dark blue cloth, front cover and spine decoratively stamped and lettered in gilt. Spine just barely darkened, minor rubbing to spine and corners, small bookseller's ticket on front pastedown, final gutter just starting (yet still solid). A bright, fine copy, much better than usually seen.
