Publisher's full red cloth; spine stamped in gilt; front stamped in blind. Original illustrated dust jacket. Top and fore-edge trimmed; bottom untrimmed. Very minor shelf wear at extremities of binding; top and bottom edges a bit soiled; spine ends gently pushed with a touch of discoloration at bottom; a few small bumps to board edges. Normal age toning and a bit of foxing to text block edges. Occasional faint, marginal spots of foxing scattered throughout. Light rubbing with some mild soiling to exposed panels of jacket; small chips out of spine and flap fold ends; gouge resulting in a small area of tearing and rumpling toward bottom of spine panel; short tear about 1" long at bottom of rear flap fold. Faint speckling at verso. Near fine. With publisher's advertising slip laid in. Bailey's second collection of detective stories.
