    Graham Greene. The Power and the Glory. London: William Heinemann, [1940]. First edition. Inscribed and signed, "For Clive Hirschhorn / Graham Greene." Octavo. [6, half-title, title, and dedication], 280, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's mustard yellow cloth, spine lettered in purple, Heinemann windmill stamped in purple to lower right corner of rear board; top mild toning and soiling, top right corner of front board bumped and wrinkled. Cream colored endpapers, all edges trimmed; moderate toning to endpapers and half-title, internally generally clean but with some intermittent foxing, edges somewhat foxed. In original printed purple dust jacket; some minor chipping, professional restorations to verso, particularly along spine panel joints. Housed in a burgundy cloth clamshell with red leather labels stamped in gilt to front board and spine. Very good. Miller 20a.

    A very good first edition copy of this title, one of 3,500 of this first edition printed. Inscribed and signed on the title page by the author to noted theater critic and collector of modern first editions, Clive Hirschhorn.
