    Description

General Douglas MacArthur. Reminiscences. New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company, [1964]. First edition, hand-numbered 1,620 of 1,750 copies and signed by MacArthur. Octavo. viii, 438, [2, blank] pages. With frontispiece portrait and numerous illustrations inserted throughout. Publisher's full tan buckram, front board stamped in blind, spine stamped in blue and lettered in gilt. Publisher's slipcase. Moderate sunning to spine, offsetting (likely from a newspaper review having been laid in) to limitation page and facing page, just affecting the signature. Slipcase worn at the edges and sunned. Still, a very good copy.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
