    Garth Williams. Eight Rough Sketches and Drawings for Unused Illustrations for Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder, 1953. Pencil on tracing paper, one on a lined sheet of paper from a spiral notebook. Eight sheets , most measuring approximately 8.5 x 11 inches. All initialed by Garth Williams, a few with brief notations. All very good or better, with occasional shallow creases and minor chips along edges. From the Estate of Garth Williams.

    More Information:

    Sketches of the town of Malone, New York, the real-life upstate New York boyhood home of Almanzo Wilder, future husband of Laura Ingalls and subject of Farmer Boy. Other sheets labeled "Smithtown, Long Island," and "Farmer Boy farm." Other drawings include studies of lamps and fountains that would have been found in Malone in the late nineteenth century.
