True first edition of this rare book, one of 170 numbered copies of the publisher's copies ("y 170 ejemplares de editor, numerados del 1 al 170") out of a total edition of 5,000 (including 50 author's copies as well). This being copy number 22. Small octavo. [225], [1, blank] pages. In publisher's deluxe binding of full mottled calf, spine ruled in gilt and blind with two gilt red morocco lettering labels, marbled endleaves. Very minor rubbing to binding, previous owner's signature on front free endpaper. Still, a fine copy of this rare book, winner of the 1961 Esso Literary Prize (but published first in Madrid the following year). Klein A4.a.2.
