    First edition, limited to 120 copies of which this is number 98. 15 printed folders, each containing an original leaf with a woodcut or copper-engraving, set loose in publisher's paper drop-front folding box along with prefatory leaf. Paper label mounted to box front containing title and imprint. Limitation label mounted to verso of lid. A fine set.

    Beautiful selection of leaves ranging in date from 1485 to 1697. Examples include the Hortus Sanitatis of Johann von Cube, 1517; Pierre Belon's De Aqatilibus, 1553; and Sebastian Munster's Cosmographia Universalis, 1559.
