    Inscribed First Edition

Frederick Nebel. INSCRIBED. Sleepers East. Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1933. First edition, association copy, inscribed by the author to the editor of the pulp magazine Black Mask on the front endpaper: "For Joe Shaw, / who cheered / Fred Nebel." Octavo. [vi], 283 pages. Publisher's black cloth, spine and front board lettered and decoratively stamped in red, in original dust jacket. Backstrip with small white blemish, spine ends softly bumped, page edges lightly foxed with some mild dust-soiling at top edge, half-title and terminal blank pages appear glued to endpapers at gutter. Dust jacket spine panel somewhat dulled, spine ends and corners chipped with substantial paper loss at base of spine, occasional small closed tear, folds lightly worn, faint toning to flap edges, price-clipped. Good.
