Octavo. 400 pages. Roster of killed and wounded. Publisher's brown cloth with state of Virginia seal stamped on the front board and titles stamped in gilt on the spine. Housed in a handsome half-leather slipcase with titles stamped in gilt on black morocco labels in compartments between four raised bands.

    Myers was a captain in Company A, of the 35th Virginia Cavalry. "A light, witty study of a cavalry unit; comparable in spirit and charm to John Casler's narrative." (Nevins). "Myers might be called the Casler of the cavalry. This is an account written with realism and tempered with wit." (Harwell).

    Condition: Boards soiled and rubbed along the edges; spine repaired with original spine panel laid down, spine slightly faded. Contents with occasional foxing. Pencil notes on the flyleaf, else a very good copy of this rare work.
