The text volumes with the original wrappers bound in. Top edges gilt. Mild edge soil, minimal marginal dampstains, not affecting text or images. Text volumes as follows: Part I--des Origines a 1660; Part II--de 1660 a 1800; Part III--19th Siecle; Part IV--Table Generale (Index). The plates are in three volumes divided into six books. There are a total of 1,392 beautiful plates with tissue guards. A comprehensive and wonderful study of French prints through the 19th century. A true tour de force of scholarship.
