First edition in English. Octavo. xvi, 350 pages. Folding map frontispiece titled "Map of the Southern, Western & Middle Provinces of the United States."

Full period-style speckled calf with gilt-ruled spine and gilt spine titles on a black leather label. Edge sprinkled red. New endpapers. Minimal wear and rubbing to binding. Light toning to textblock. Scattered minor foxing, most noticeable in the margins of the last fifth of the text. One small, dark, mostly marginal stain to page 144.
