Printed in Mexico in 1757, With Fascinating Copper-Engraved Plates

Francisco de Florencia. Origen de los dos celebres santuarios de la Nueva Galicia, obispado de Guadalaxara en la America Septentrional... [Mexico]: En la Imprenta de la Bibliotheca Mexicana, 1757. [xxiv], 206, [14] pages. With two full-page copper-engraved plates and one engraved text illustration of the Bibliotheca Mexicana. Title page printed in red and black within typographical border. Small quarto. Contemporary full vellum with handwritten ink spine titles. Wrinkling and soiling to vellum. Ties almost completely perished. Hinges barely holding. Bookplate to front pastedown. Inked price to front pastedown. Uneven toning to the textblock. One marginal ink doodle to one page. Overall, a very good copy of a book rarely seen at auction.
