Artists unknown. [Thomas Cromwell]. Excursions in the County of Suffolk. Comprising a brief historical and topographical delineation of every town and village... London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1818-1819. One fore-edge painting to each volume depicting Suffolk County manor homes after plates within the text, artist unknown. Two volumes. Fore-edge painting to Volume I depicting Hoxne Hall, after an engraving at page 22 of Volume II; Volume II depicting Culford Hall, after an engraving at page 78 of Volume I. 12mo in sixes. 224; 198 pages. Contemporary full-straight grain morocco decorated in gilt, spine decorated in gilt with four raised bands. Moderate edgewear, joints starting, spines somewhat worn, rubbed. Inner dentelles gilt, grey endpapers, hinges starting, some foxing and offsetting. All edges gilt; foxed, some offsetting, moderate text block edgewear. Very good with bright, well-preserved fore-edge paintings.

Duncan for Ricardi [Richard] Priestley, 1825. Fore-edge painting depicting a landscape view of Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland, England, artist unknown. Octavo. 733 pages. Contemporary full green morocco decorated in blind, spine lettered in gilt and stamped in blind. Corners just bumped, moderate edgewear, joints starting with front joint split about 2 inches from the head, spine sunned and worn with some losses, somewhat rubbed. Inner dentelles decorated in blind, teal endpapers, book plate to front pastedown, front hinge partially cracked but holding, rear hinge weak, remnant of removed bookplate to front free endpaper recto. All edge gilt; minor foxing, minor offsetting from green ribbon marker, some dampstaining to front and rear of text block. Good or better with bright, well-preserved fore-edge painting.

Fore-edge painting depicting a landscape with a foreground of sheep and herders under trees overlooking a city and ruins, possibly Jerusalem. Small octavo. 200 pages. Contemporary full straight grain green morocco decorated in gilt, corners bumped and rubbed, joints starting, moderate edgewear, spine worn with some losses, somewhat rubbed. Marbled endpaper, front hinge starting, ink ownership to front free endpaper recto and title page. Very good with finely detailed and well-preserved, though somewhat dulled, fore-edge painting.
