With fore-edge painting depicting a Venetian scene. Fold-out facsimile letter in Geek bound in back. Lacks title page. Red straight-grain morocco with decorations in blind and gilt on boards, four raised spine band with gilt titles and floral devices in compartments, all edges gilt. Front board and leaves up to page vii detached. Binding rubbed and scuffed, small spine tears and chipping, rear joint cracked. Bookplate residue on front pastedown, ink gift inscription on verso of front free endpaper dated 1932 and holograph pencil annotations. Dark brown spots on upper outer corner of pages 275-282. Some minor foxing and soiling. Very good.
