With a fore-edge painting depicting a woman crossing a courtyard carrying two pails with a shoulder yoke. Engraved frontispiece portrait of Cowper, additional engraved title page, and two engraved plates. Bound by J. Wright in full calf with gilt cherub devices and decorated borders on both boards, five raised spine bands with gilt titles and ornate decorations in compartments, board edges and inner dentelles gilt, all edges gilt, and marbled endpapers. Binders ink stamp of verso of front free endpaper. Binding rubbed, scuffed, and lightly soiled. Bookseller's pencil annotations and contemporary ink inscriptions on verso of front free endpaper, pencil note on facing blank page, some foxing and occasional soiling. Very good.
