[Fore-edge Painting]. Édouard Laboulaye. Nouveaux Contes Bleus. Paris: Furne, Jouvet et Cie, 1868. Quarto. With a fore-edge painting of a naked woman sneaking away modestly from a man laying in bed (in imitation of the engraving on page 43). Text in French. Full page illustrations by Yan' Dargent and numerous other in-text illustrations. Bound in full red leather with blind stamped rules on covers, five raised spine bands with gilt titles and decorations in compartments, all edges gilt. Bookseller's label on front pastedown. Binding rubbed, edges and corners bumped, joints worn. Hinges cracked, few pencil markings, foxing, and occasional smudges. Very good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
