Fore-edge painting depicting, "Verona, Italy," presumably by the "Double-Line Painter," circa 1920s. 12mo in sixes. 354 pages. Full burgundy straight grain morocco decorated in gilt and blind, spine decorated in gilt with four raised bands and partial gilt roll to edges. Corners bumped and rubbed, moderated edgewear, joints starting, spine sunned, somewhat rubbed, small black stain to lower board. Inner dentelles gilt, marbled endpapers; bookplate to front pastedown with early ink notation, front hinge starting. Fore-edge painting label in neat, brown ink to front free endpaper verso. Internally generally clean, all edges gilt; gutter cracked at front blank, somewhat foxed, minor dampstaining, minor text block edgewear. Very good with bright, well-preserved fore-edge painting.
