Bound in sumptuous red morocco, gilt extra, with green morocco accents on spine between five raised bands, bound by Booklovers Bindery of New York. All edges gilt, lavish dentelles with blue morocco doublures and white moiré silk free endpapers. Occasional foxing to text. Moderate foxing/toning to frontispiece, printed title page, folding plate of Waterloo, and fold-out map. Plan and map have a couple of repairs to reverse. Plates in marvelous condition: clean, with bright colors. A wonderful copy in an absolutely stunning binding. Fine. From the Estate of John McLaughlin.
