    Wallace Stevens. Harmonium. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1923. First edition, third binding state, one of 715 copies printed in 1926. Octavo. 140 pages. Original blue cloth with titles printed in red on a yellow paper label mounted to the spine. Slight toning to spine panel, with a former owner's name written neatly in ink on the front free endpaper, otherwise with trivial shelf wear and in near fine condition. Housed in a custom half-morocco slipcase with titles stamped in gilt on two labels on the spine. Harmonium was Stevens' first collection of poetry published at the late age of 44. Some of his most famous poems are included here, such as "The Emperor of Ice-Cream," a poem on the banality of funeral ceremonies, "The Snow Man," and "Sunday Morning." Edelstein, A1.a.
