W. Somerset Maugham. The Making of a Saint. London, 1898. First British edition, first issue. Publisher's green cloth rubbed and worn. Rear joint worn and splitting. Spine ends fraying and split. Good. Published less than a month after the American edition.

    More Information:

    Octavo. 303 pages.

Publisher's green ribbed cloth with gold stamping on the spine. Spine is leaning. Top edge  gilt; fore-edge and bottom edge roughly trimmed. Cloth is rubbed and edge-worn with darkening along the spine. Rear joint is worn and beginning to split. There appears to have been a repair to the upper portion of the front joint, probably reattaching a split in the cloth. Spine ends are fraying and split. Endpapers are uniformly darkened and hinges are tender. Front free endpaper is lightly chipped and almost detached. Good.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
