W. J. Stuart. Forbidden Planet. New York: Farrar, Straus and Cudahy, 1956.

    First edition. Twelvemo. 184 pages.

Publisher's original yellow cloth with dark grey titles on the spine and decoration on the front board. Contents slightly toned, as usual. Book block slightly skewed. Dust jacket with small tears and wear at the extremities. All things considered a very good copy.

A science fiction version of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Locke: A Spectrum of Fantasy, page 208: "The novelisation of a celebrated science fiction film in which the crew of a spacecraft combats a powerful alien menace originating from the underground remnants of a dead far as I am concerned, this book is one of the two or three most important post-war science fiction film novelisations, and is very scarce indeed". Tuck: The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Fantasy, page 413: "Novelisation of the screenplay by Cyril Hume, based on the story by Irving Block and Allen Adler. Space patrolmen land on a planet and find survivors of a previous expedition and the strange and wonderful world of an extinct super-race. An invisible monster creates terror until the reason for it is discovered. Noteworthy for special effects, including Robby the Robot." From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
