Published at the close of the 1930s, his is one of the last collections of poetry Millay would produce. Many of the poems, including "Say that we saw Spain Die," for example, represent Millay's increasing concern to address in her work the social-economic conflicts of her time. The Artist's Edition, limited to 500 copies signed by the author, with a folding facsimile page from the operatic score signed by the composer and three proof etchings of Joseph Urban's stage sets. Publisher's half white buckram over green endpapers. printed paper spine label (trifle bit of wear but extra label still present on rear pastedown), green endpapers. A very good copy.
