Publisher's gilt-stamped blue cloth; top edge stained blue. Orange endpapers. Spine of dust jacket lightly sunned. Near fine. This collection won both the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1966 and the National Book Award. [and:] Jean Stafford. The Collected Stories of Jean Stafford. New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, [1969]. First edition, first printing. Octavo. 463 pages. Publisher's black-, bronze-, and blind-stamped purple cloth; top edge stained lavender. Mustard endpapers. Cloth lightly faded along board edges; some tiny gouges to cloth along front joint. Toning to spine and edges of dust jacket. Very good. This collection won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1970. [and:] Eugene O'Neill. More Stately Mansions. New Haven: Yale University Press, 1964. First edition. Octavo. [xii], 194 pages. Shortened from the author's partly revised script by Karl Ragnar Giernow and edited by Donald Gallup. Publisher's gilt-stamped black cloth. .75-inch closed tear to top edge of dust jacket's front panel. Else, a fine copy. Originally written as a draft between 1936 and 1939, it was posthumously published by O'Neill's widow against his express wishes. The 1967 Broadway production ran only 142 performances but garnered Colleen Dewhurst a Tony Award nomination.
