    First edition, one of a limited edition of 275 copies signed by the author (across the limitation text). Elephant folio. Unpaginated. Illustrated with eight etchings in color by Max Pollock.

    Black cloth backstrip and wood-grained paper over boards with titles in black on the front board. Two inch split to the cloth backstrip at the foot of the spine. Corners abraded. Shelf wear along the edges of the board. Boards generally toned with a line of sun fading to the back board. Slight fraying at the head and foot of the spine. Hand-made laid and watermarked Italian paper. Page edges untrimmed. Printed on one side of leaf on opposite pages. Old gift inscription on the front free endpaper. Slight three inch separation starting in the hinge at the title page. Very good.
