Ray Bradbury. The October Country. New York: Ballentine Book, [1955].

First edition (Currey binding C). Octavo. 306 pages. Illustrated by Joseph Mugnaini.

Publisher's glossy red cloth with black lettering on spine. Minor shelf wear to spine ends; board corners are firm and sharp. Neat bookplate of a former owner affixed to initial pastedown (covered by dust jacket). Textblock is in fine condition. Dust jacket has a .5 inch tear near head of spine, slightly affecting the "The" of the title, and two small water stains on verso at corners. Spine of jacket is significantly faded. A very good copy of a Bradbury classic.

Special issue of Bradbury's short story collection which reprints 15 stories from Bradbury's 1947 collection Dark Carnival and adds four others previously published elsewhere. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.
