Reginald G. Wilberforce was the eldest son of Samuel Wilberforce (1805-1873), Lord Bishop of Oxford, a member of the House of Lords, and a zealous advocate of liberalism. This volume was based on first-hand accounts documented during the Indian Rebellion, an armed uprising against the British East India Company, during 1857-58.
