Brown cloth stamped and lettered in gilt and black. Wear to spine, moderate rubbing and bumping of cover edges and corners. Hinges a bit loose. Interior leaves are lightly foxed, else in very good condition. Former owner's inscription on flyleaf, other handwritten notations.
Khayyam is best known for his poetry, although he was also a great mathematician, philosopher and astronomer. Khayyam's original quatrains (rubaiyaas) became popular through Edward Fitzgerald's re-created/enhanced translation.
