    Limited to 100 copies, 41 of which are on Japon, this copy being number 9. Folio. 40 numbered pages. With an original watercolor ("Entrée dans Orleans"), and four mounted color separations of the illustration; also with a tipped-in original page of manuscript. Hand-colored title page. Forty full-page mounted color illustrations. Text in French.

    Original illustrated paper boards, lettered in gilt, with gilt and blue decorations; rebacked with a gilt-stamped vellum spine, and with gilt lettered morocco title label. Boards worn, rubbed, and soiled, with some foxing and dampstaining. Gilt fleurs-de-lis-patterned endpapers. Pages generally clean, with occasional rippling, as expected. Plates in beautiful condition, with a couple of short closed tears to margins, not affecting image area; colors bright. Very good. From the Estate of John McLaughlin.
