Lynd Ward. God's Man, A Novel in Woodcuts. New York: Jonathan Cape and Harrison Smith, [1929].

First edition. Octavo. Unpaginated. Illustrated with over 130 woodcuts.

Original illustrated paper boards and cloth backstrip. Boards worn on the rear panel, with abrasions and some small loss, and also at a few places around the edges. Printed paper spine label remnants with manuscript title in ink. Contents generally bright. Near very good.

An autobiographical story, told entirely in woodcuts, without any text at all. The story chronicles Ward's struggles in the 1920s with his art and life. This was the first of Lynd Ward's six well known and respected wordless novels told through wood engravings.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
