    Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.: Slaughterhouse-Five; or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death (New York: Delacorte Press, 1969), first printing, 186 pages, baby blue cloth with red, gilt, and black titles, 8vo (5.5" x 8.5"), dust jacket. Vonnegut's experience as a P.O.W. in Dresden during World War II was the major influence on this classic mind-bending mix of science fiction and postmodernism. The author witnessed the fire-bombing in Dresden in 1945, and it is a central plot element of Slaughterhouse-Five. The New York Times said of the book that "you'll either love it, or push it back in the science-fiction corner." Millions of readers have grown to love it. The book is in fine condition in a very good, slightly soiled unclipped dust jacket.
