First hardcover editions. Two twelvemo volumes. The Forbidden Garden is one of 500 signed copies. G.O.G. 666 is one of 300 signed copies. Both are inscribed and signed on the limitation page.

    Orange cloth with gold spine titles. Illustrated endpapers and endleaves. Overall, books and dust jackets are fine. Born in Scotland, mathematician Eric Temple Bell (1883-1960) wrote non-fiction under his given name, but used the pseudonym John Taine for his fictional publications. His first novel, The Purple Sapphire, was published in 1924. This lot includes two of his later novels. From the Robert and Diane Yaspan Collection.
