Description

John Brunner First Edition: The Sheep Look Up. (New York: Harper and Row Publishers Inc, 1972), first edition, 457 pages, 8vo (5.75" x 8.25"), original black and green cloth, dust jacket present. The bookplate indicates this book is an ex-libris copy of John Brunner, himself!

This book presents readers with an angry view on the undeniable truth of the dark fate of our planet Earth, in a world where pollution, chemicals, and greed are leading our planet to disaster. In this book, Brunner creates many parallels to our modern day organizations, such as his fictitious aid organization called "Global Releaf." Like many other books before and after it, this books deals with man's abuse of nature. This book is in fine condition with some slightly rounded edges on the binding. The pages were created with the unique technique of deckled edges; this is natural, not a flaw.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
